Trump Snubbed Rudy Giuliani For State, Now He’s In Charge Of Cyber Security

President-elect Donald Trump has chosen former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani to head up the new administration’s cyber security program. Giuliani was initially tapped for secretary of state but was dropped in favor of Exxon Mobil chief Rex Tillerson.

“Cyber intrusion is the fastest growing crime in the United States and much of the world,” the Trump team said in a statement. “Its impact is felt from the individual citizen whose identity is stolen to the large private and government entities that have seen their confidential information seriously compromised.  It is also a major threat to our national security.”

“Mr. Giuliani was  asked to initiate this process because of his long and very successful government career in law enforcement and his now sixteen years of work providing security solutions in the private sector.”

Giuliani’s company has experience providing advice on cyber security. Giuliani is a loyal Trump supporter who often appeared on cable TV to defend Trump’s controversial statements and was expected to be rewarded in the new administration.
