Pelosi Names Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler and Others As Impeachment Managers
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has named the managers for the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump. There were some surprises in the list but the announcement will now allow the House to send the two articles of impeachment to the Senate.
Adam Schiff, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, and Jerry Nadler, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, have both been named as managers. Both oversaw the process of investigating the accusations against Trump and passing the articles.
The other managers will be Representatives Zoe Lofgren, Hakeem Jeffries, Val Demings, Jason Crow and Sylvia Garcia. This list was not widely expected but these representatives will be officially appointed as impeachment managers by the House later today.
THE IMPEACHMENT MANAGERS:
Adam Schiff
Jerry Nadler
Zoe Lofgren

Sylvia GarciaCrow and Garcia were unexpected but make sense.

“This is about the constitution of the United States,” Pelosi said. “And it’s important for the president to know, and for Putin to know, that the American voter should decide who our president is, not Vladimir Putin in Russia.”

Congresswoman Lofgren is a particularly interesting choice. She was in Congress for both the Nixon and Clinton impeachment and offered her unique perspective during the hearings.
