Jill Biden: Trump Is ‘Afraid to Run Against My Husband’

Jill Biden taunted President Trump on Saturday, claiming he will be worried about his reelection chances if her husband wins the Democratic nomination.

“We knew it was going to be tough” when the former vice president decided to run, Biden said, “but we never could have imagined it would turn into Donald Trump…asking a foreign government to get involved in our elections.”

The president “has shown us who he is, and this has been a real distraction,” the former second lady told MSNBC’s David Gura, referencing the evidence collected during the impeachment process. “I think it just proves that he’s afraid to run against my husband.”

Earlier in the interview, Biden dismissed the notion that if her husband were elected, he would only serve one term due to his age. A Politico article earlier this week reported that the 77-year-old has signaled to aides that he would “almost certainly” not seek re-election, but was still weighing whether to make a public pledge.
