Meghan McCain Asks Tulsi Gabbard Why She Triggers People: ‘I Myself Am A Trigger’
The View‘s Meghan McCain compared herself to Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard. McCain and Gabbard had an interesting exchange on Wednesday where McCain wondered why people on the left and the right were ‘triggered’ by the Hawaii congresswoman.
“Why do you think you trigger so many people in so many different ways?” McCain asked.
“Because I don’t completely understand it, but I myself am a trigger, so maybe that’s why I don’t get it.”
There was some laughter from the audience when she called herself a ‘trigger’.

Gabbard responded that she is ‘speaking truth to power’ and that people in power view her as a threat. Gabbard’s answer seemed to avoid the substance of McCain’s question.
As McCain tried to ask a follow up, co-host Whoopi Goldberg went to break, while also stifling a laugh.
Both McCain and Gabbard have been controversial figures but not necessarily for the same reasons.
