Trump Sparks Outrage by Asking if Adam Schiff Should Be Arrested ‘for Treason’
President Donald Trump has caused outrage online after tweeting that Representative Adam Schiff should be arrested for treason. The Democrat, who is Chair of the House Intelligence Committee, is playing a key part in the emerging impeachment inquiry and the President is not happy about it.
Rep. Adam Schiff illegally made up a FAKE & terrible statement, pretended it to be mine as the most important part of my call to the Ukrainian President, and read it aloud to Congress and the American people. It bore NO relationship to what I said on the call. Arrest for Treason?

Twitter users quickly responded with outrage and contempt, with some suggesting that the President himself should be the one charged with treason.
If Trump weren’t too ignorant and unhinged to take seriously, his ludicrous talk of arresting @RepAdamSchiff for “treason” would be terrifying. Actually, it’s terrifying anyway. If there’s a traitor in this picture, it sure as hell isn’t Adam Schiff. https://t.co/SAkBKIXzdb

Others pointed out that comments like this one are more evidence in favor of impeachment. The President has used Twitter to vent his frustration over the past few days.
In the last few days you’ve said the #whistleblower should be executed, that @RepAdamSchiff should be tried for treason & that there should be a #CivilWar if you’re impeached. You’re a dangerous sociopath…& if Repubs don’t join Dems to remove you from office this is on them…

Even Democratic presidential candidates weighed in, with long-shot Julián Castro taking a swipe at Trump about his impeachment poll numbers.
You broke the law. Impeachment is supported by a majority of Americans.
Threatening @RepAdamSchiff’s life or a Civil War won’t save you. https://t.co/SouPhqG0gd

While others were even more direct than Castro in expressing their feelings.
Fuck you and everyone in the GOP.
Bless.
