Border Wall Chief Would Prefer Trump Not Talk About Secret Border Wall Technology, Thanks
President Trump is offended that anyone would think he would be dumb enough to blurt out any of America’s secrets to just anyone. Which he keeps proving by randomly blurting out America’s secrets.
In response to a bombshell Washington Post story that an intelligence community whistleblower filed a formal complaint against the president for making what was described as an “alarming” promise to an unnamed foreign leader in a phone call, Trump tweeted on Thursday that he can’t believe anyone thinks he’d be dumb enough to talk about something “inappropriate” during such a conversation.
But if anyone thinks Trump is dumb enough to do exactly that, he only needs to watch this video of the president blurting out an apparent secret while on a visit to a newly reconstructed section of the border wall the day before, then being told by Lt. General Todd Semonite, the acting chief of the Army Corps of Engineers:
TRUMP: “One thing we haven’t mentioned is technology. They’re wired so that we will know if somebody’s trying to break through. But you may want to discuss that a little bit, General.”
SEMONITE: “Sir, there may be some merit in not discussing that.”
Yes, there would be some merit in not discussing secret technology, though this is certainly not the first time Trump has done so. No wonder at least one person in the intelligence community was alarmed enough to report him.
