Ted Cruz Defends Curt Schilling, Refers To Transgender People As “Repulsive Perverts”

On Wednesday, right-wingers found their latest martyr in the culture wars when former pitcher and current contrarian dickwad Curt Schilling was fired by ESPN for posting transphobic memes and comments on his social media accounts. The Worldwide Leader had warned Schilling before about publicly making offensive comments, going so far as to suspend him for posting an inaccurate and inflammatory meme regarding Muslims last year. (He doubled down on it later, leading to a further suspension.)

Of course, it doesn’t matter to conservatives that he has been told to cool it with the bigotry disguised as political discourse numerous times before ESPN finally said enough. This was seen as further proof that political correctness has run amok, and ESPN is just the latest organization that has found itself in the pocket of BIG TRANS. All the usual suspects came out of the woodwork after Schilling was shitcanned, including Sarah Palin, Todd Starnes and the Conservative Entertainment Complex.

During an appearance on his biggest supporter’s radio show, Ted Cruz decided to weigh in, and it went pretty much as one would expect. While fellow GOP candidate Donald Trump had told TODAY that we should stop passing anti-trans bathroom laws, Cruz doubled down on his endorsement of North Carolina’s law and came to Schilling’s defense.

In response to Glenn Beck’s question regarding Schilling’s firing, Cruz said the following:

“ESPN fired Curt Schilling for making the rather obvious point that we shouldn’t allow grown male adult strangers alone in a bathroom with little girls. That’s a point anyone who is rational should understand.”

Later on in the conversation, Beck claimed the left was being hypocritical, claiming that they support gun control by saying it would save lives, which is all conservatives want to do by making transgender people use specific bathrooms, because they just don’t want perverts to take advantage of laws.

“We always hear from the left on gun control that if it will save just one person, then we should do it. If this would just save one little girl from being molested by a heterosexual pervert, we should do it.”

Cruz picked up on this vibe and ran with it. According to Politico, Cruz essentially called transgender people pervs and criminals.

Cruz referred to his time as solicitor general of Texas dealing with “people who are repulsive perverts and criminals.”

“There are some bad people in the world, and we shouldn’t be facilitating putting little girls alone in a bathroom with grown adult men,” he said. “That is just a bad, bad, bad idea.”

Remember, folks. This is who the Republican Party is tossing out there as the more palatable option to Trump.

  1. Could you maybe quote Cruz saying these things that you are telling us he “essentially” said? Because everything you quoted him as saying seems rather acceptable to me. You are trying to make what he said look worse than it was or you would have his “essential” comments in quotes. What you people need to realize the reason Trump has so many supporters is because YES, there are still plenty of Americans out there that still believe in the way it was before. They still believe that all you sensitive “love absolutely every weirdo no matter how weird and messed up they are” people are a HUGE reason the world is going down the shitter. If ANYONE expressed their feelings to this point all you “love everyone” assholes jump all over them and destroy their lives and businesses and have them fired from their jobs by calling them intolerant and heaters… I don’t have time to go on but I think it’s great that there is finally SOME kind of a push back. I know in the end it’s probably going to get squashed but it’s good to see there are still plenty of people out there who see what the real problem is.

  2. Don’t forget to point out all my typos, I was too busy trying to figure out which restroom I was supposed to use.
