Republicans Mocked For Saying Taylor Swift Came Down From Her ‘Tower’ To Endorse Democrats
Every day just feels dumber than the last.
The morning after pop megastar Taylor Swift broke her longstanding political silence to endorse Democratic candidates in her home state of Tennessee, conservatives and Republicans have lashed out at the ‘Shake It Off’ songstress. This included a press release from the National Republican Senate Committee portraying Swift as an out-of-touch elite telling “hardworking Tennesseans” who to vote for.
Via The Daily Beast’s Sam Stein:
NRSC press release: "If you haven’t heard, multimillionaire pop star Taylor Swift came down from her ivory tower to tell hardworking Tennesseans to vote for Phil Bredesen."

Yes, how dare multimillionaires come down from their towers to get involved in politics?
It didn’t take long for the NRSC to be subjected to widespread mockery for not updating its talking points now that the Prtesident of the United States is someone who literally lives in a self-named tower.
Trump literally – and I don’t mean fake literally – LITERALLY *owns* a tower. He literally came down from his tower to tell people things. https://t.co/8rPITUi6wB

The leader of the GOP is quite literally a multimillionaire TV star who, until recently, lived in a golden tower https://t.co/9A7WDNAiNu

You'd think Republicans would update their talking considering their beloved president literally came down from a gold plated tower, but no https://t.co/ScZTA81tlI

The Koch brothers’ Super PAC is running ads for Blackburn in Tennessee and Donald Trump — of all-gold Trump Tower and reality television — is the Republican president… https://t.co/7s22erqidr
