Anthony Fauci on Trump’s Tweets: ‘I Have Not Been Misleading the American Public Under Any Circumstances’
Dr. Anthony Fauci responded to President Donald Trump’s tweets attacking him on Monday. During an appearance on Good Morning America, Fauci said he didn’t use Twitter but he defended his actions during the pandemic from several of the President’s criticisms.
“I don’t tweet. I don’t even read them so I don’t really want to go there,” Fauci said. “I just will continue to do my job no matter what comes out because I think it’s very important.”
“I’m just going to certainly continue doing my job. We’re in the middle of a crisis with regard to an epidemic, a pandemic, this is what I do, this is what I’ve been trained for my entire professional life, and I’ll continue to do it.”

When he was asked about Trump’s claims that he’s been misleading the American people, he offered the closest thing yet to a rebuke of the President. Trump has ramped up attacks on Fauci in recent weeks as it appears the virus is hurting his reelection chances.
“I have not been misleading the American public under any circumstances,” Fauci said.
