Trump says Joe Biden is ‘Mentally Shot’ as He Refuses to Commit to Accepting the Election Results
President Donald Trump has claimed former Vice President Joe Biden has cognitive problems. In a wide-ranging interview with Fox News’ Chris Wallace, Trump called the presumptive Democratic candidate’s mental acuity into question.
“He’s shot, he’s mentally shot,” Trump said. In the same interview, he argued with Wallace about a cognitive test he recently passed. The President has stressed that the questions were difficult but the Fox News’ host disputed this while a sample of the test appeared on screen.
Trump also refused to commit to accepting the election results in November if he loses. He’s been claiming for some time now that mail-in ballots will be used fraudulently despite a lack of evidence.
“I’m not losing, because those are fake polls,” Trump said. Even Fox News polls show him behind Biden.
“I have to see,” he said about accepting the election results. “I have to see. No, I’m not going to just say yes. I’m not going to say no, and I didn’t last time either.”
Trump may be the only president in history to dispute the results of his own election. He has repeatedly made accusations of mass voter fraud in the 2016 contest because he failed to win the popular vote by around 3 million ballots.
