‘Fox & Friends’ Brian Kilmeade Blasts Media for Not Treating Michael Flynn Like Martin Luther King
Fox News host Brian Kilmeade took aim at the media on Monday for not being outraged about the treatment of Michael Flynn. The Fox & Friends host compared Flynn’s case to the targeted intimidation against Civil Rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Kilmeade spoke to former FBI Counterterror deputy assistant director Terry Turchie about Flynn, who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.
“This is what you’re talking about. just to back up your thoughts how the Democrats used to be very suspicious of the FBI and now they are just loving what the FBI is doing,” Kilmeade said.
“The Atlantic headlines how the FBI lies can damage society. Civil society. The Daily Beast in 2017: the FBI’s war on civil rights leaders. Would Martin Luther King Jr. be spied on today? That was in 2013. That’s a CNN headline.”
“Now it seems to have flipped and they don’t seem to have a problem with all these unmaskings. In fact, the approval rating among Democrats – in 2013 it was 44%. Now in 2018 it’s at 64%.”
“For the most part the media is just downplaying the significance of anything with the Flynn case,” he said.
King was specifically targeted by the FBI because of his battle for Civil Rights, as well as facing violence and threats of violence from those opposed to equal rights for African Americans. He was assassinated in 1968.
