Joe Scarborough: Trump’s Attack on Obama Is a ‘Confession’ of His Own Incompetence

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough as unimpressed by President Donald Trump’s attack on former President Barack Obama on Monday. The Morning Joe host said that Trump was essentially confessing to his own faults when he called Obama ‘grossly incompetent.’

“These words are trademarked by John Heilemann, anything that Donald Trump says is either confession or projection,” Scarborough said.

“President Trump’s response, when asked about former president Barack Obama’s thinly veiled swipe at the Trump Administration’s handling of the Coronavirus pandemic during two virtual commencement speeches,” co-host Mika Brzezinski explained.

“Trump later tweeted, quote, ‘the Obama Administration is turning out to be one of the most corrupt and incompetent in U.S. history,'” she said, barely stifling a laugh.

“Projection, confession,” Scarborough said.

“‘Remember, he and sleepily Joe are the reasons I’m here in the White House.’ OK,” Brzezinski went on.

“Well, projection and confession,” Scarborough said. “You have a president tweeting that as the same time that he has actually fired yet another inspector general.”

“There’s up to 90,000 deaths on his watch,” Brzezinski added.
