Elizabeth Warren Endorses Joe Biden
Senator Elizabeth Warren endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday. The Massachusetts Democrat has become the latest high profile member of the party to publicly back Biden for the White House following Senator Bernie Sanders’ decision to exit the race.
She shared a video on Twitter endorsing the former VP.
“In this moment of crisis, it’s more important than ever that the next president restores Americans’ faith in good, effective government—and I’ve seen Joe Biden help our nation rebuild,” she said.
“Today, I’m proud to endorse Joe Biden as President of the United States.”

Sanders was the first to publicly endorse Biden, followed by former President Barack Obama on Tuesday. Warren’s support will add to the impression of unity in the Democratic Party. Sanders and Warren were both considered serious competitors to Biden’s left.
The Vermont senator has said it would be ‘irresponsible’ to oppose Biden, while Obama stressed the need to defeat President Donald Trump, though he didn’t say his name. That message will likely be repeated in Warren’s comments.
As the party coalesces around Biden, the prospect of a contested convention grows dimmer. Some had speculated Sanders might take his fight to the convention floor but given the unprecedented national and international crisis, it seems Democrats are choosing to back Biden as soon as possible.
