‘Fox & Friends’ Praises Trump’s ‘Centrist’ Message in ‘Optimistic’ Speech
Fox & Friends, President Donald Trump’s favorite morning show, lavished praised on his State of the Union speech on Wednesday. Co-host Steve Doocy discussed it with a panel of guests who agreed with each other that the media was being too critical.
“We heard them describe it as essentially red meat for the conservative base but I heard a very centrist kind of message from the President for a change,” Doocy said.
“Certainly the President touched on the divisive issues such as abortion,” said the Heritage Foundation’s Kelsey Bolar.
“But, look, overall, this was a uniting, optimistic, positive speech. And you know, the media pretending otherwise, I think is reflective that they’re out of touch with many Americans who … Independents would find plenty of opportunities to unite around this speech.”
“Especially, I would call [the] President producer-in-chief the way he actually brought the country together in real time behind that reunification of a family whose service member they brought home.”
Trump’s speech has been widely panned for containing deliberate lies about the state of the economy before he took office and former President Barack Obama’s record. Other media outlets not loyal to the President have described the speech as dark and bizarre.
