Fox News Guest Says Des Moines Register Is ‘Living in a Parallel Universe’ for Endorsing Elizabeth Warren
Senator Elizabeth Warren picked up an important endorsement over the weekend when the Des Moines Register offered her its’ support. The newspaper is an important one in Iowa and may help Warren secure a good position in the upcoming caucuses.
On Fox & Friends on Monday, occasional guest Howie Carr suggested the newspaper’s editorial board had lost their minds.
“And then yesterday the Des Moines Register says she would treat truth as something that matters,” Carr said. “Where is the factual record for that statement, Des Moines Register? They said that she doesn’t have these radical ideas. I don’t know, did they see videotape from Grimes, Iowa last week with the father who was asking her about her plan to forgive all student debt? I think he thinks it’s a radical plan. Her numbers have been cratering in Iowa and elsewhere since the Fall since people began to understand what Medicare for all was about.”
“If you read the editorial, Steve, it’s like they’re living in a parallel universe. They say well, you know, there’s more to the stock market … there’s more to the economy than just the health of the stock market and the unemployment numbers. Well, maybe, but that’s, you know, those are two pretty key indicators.”
“The Des Moines Register is on its’ — You know, it’s a ghost of its former self,” Carr said.
