Trump’s Scene in ‘Home Alone 2’ Cut from Canadian Broadcast over the Holidays
A scene featuring President Donald Trump was reportedly cut from a broadcast of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Canadian broadcaster CBC showed the movie but left out the scene where Trump helps the star, Kevin McCallister, played by Macauley Culkin.
After the cut scene was flagged, CBC claimed it had edited Trump out in the interests of time for commercials.
“As is often the case with features adapted for television, Home Alone 2 was edited to allow for commercial time within the format,” CBC said.
The move is usually played during the holidays and is a follow up to the popular Home Alone, which did not feature Donald Trump. However, Home Alone 2 was partly filmed at one of Trump’s properties. According to some reports, Trump often asked to be featured in movies if they were filmed at Trump buildings.
The scene itself is somewhat well-known. Trump meets Culkin’s character in the lobby of the Plaza Hotel in New York and gives him directions. It is not essential to the plot, however and like many of Trump’s cameos is essentially tacked on.
Home Alone was also in the news recently when someone edited its’ Wikipedia page to say that Donald Trump was the first cast member to be impeached.
