Trump Calls FBI Agents ‘Scum’, Slams Director Chris Wray in Rambling Speech
President Donald Trump took aim at the FBI during a speech last night. In a rambling speech where the President slurred his ways and became distracted several time, he attacked FBI Director Christopher Wray, whom he appointed it, and continued his administration’s attacks on law enforcement more generally.
“You have great people in the FBI, but not in leadership. You have not good people in leadership,” Trump said, obviously referring to Wray. The FBI director recently angered Trump by saying there was no evidence that Ukraine interfered in the 2016 election. Wray also suggested that right-wing media could not be trusted.

Trump went on to refer to FBI agents as ‘scum’ and brought up attorney John Durham, whose investigation into the Russia probe is supposed to deliver the results that the Justice Department’s Inspector General’s report didn’t. Trump is relying on Durham to prove his conspiracy theories about the 2016 election.

Trump’s comments are yet another development in the ongoing attacks on the FBI. This week alone, Attorney General William Barr rejected the Inspector General’s report and directly criticized the intelligence agencies, embracing an unfounded conspiracy that the Russia probe was unwarranted. The Inspector General found the opposite.
