Charlie Kirk Accuses Democrats of ‘Premeditated Impeachment’: They ‘Don’t Want to Give Trump the Win’
Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk appeared on Fox & Friends on Friday to bash Democrats for not getting any legislation passed. Kirk was making the argument that Democrats’ impeachment push is preventing them doing their job in Congress. However, this argument has been disputed many times as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has, in fact, refused to take up bills passed by the House.
“Well, getting D.C. to do anything at all is quite a remarkable achievement,” Kirk said. “Here’s why. It’s because the energy of the Democrat base is towards impeachment and removal and revenge.”
“The Democrats are engaged in a premeditated impeachment. Premeditated impeachment. This impeachment started 18 minutes after the President of the United States was worn into office in January of 2017.”
“And the base of the Democrat Party [sic], they’re putting aside all the priorities and they’re saying the only thing that matters is seeking revenge for a president who was never supposed to win an election.”
“Quite honestly, Pete, the deeper I dig into it and the more lawmakers I talk, it’s almost as if Democrats don’t want to give Trump the win,” Kirk said. “It’s as if they don’t want him to have any sort of legislative victories whatsoever.”
Kirk has been a consistent, though not especially effective, defender of the President Donald Trump. His argument that impeachment is stymieing legislation hasn’t caught the public imagination.
