Trump: Kellyanne Conway ‘Must Have Done Some Bad Things’ to George to Make Him ‘Crazy’
President Donald Trump spoke on the phone with Fox & Friends on Friday morning for 57 minutes. In a largely one-sided conversation, the President covered a range of topics, from impeachment to Hong Kong to his health. He also briefly addressed criticism form conservative lawyer George Conway, who is married to Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway.
“So you’re running in 2020,” co-host Ainsley Earhardt said. “And many people – we all just assumed your vice presidential nominee would be Mike Pence but then reading headlines about Kellyanne Conway’s husband saying that Nikki Haley’s fighting for that position.”
“I’m a South Carolinian, originally from South Carolina. Nikki Haley was our governor. I know she really did a good job as the ambassador. So who’s gonna be your running mate in 2020?”
“No, she’ s great,” Trump said. “First of all, Kellyanne is great but she’s married to a total whack job. She must have done number on him, Ainsley.”
“I don’t know what Kellyanne did to that guy because I don’t even know him. I met him for a second. He’s gotta be some kind of a nutjob. She must have done some bad things to him because that guy is crazy.”
It is not clear if Trump was suggesting that Kellyanne Conway was guilty of some form of domestic abuse of her husband, but even as a joke, the President’s comment seems bizarre. The hosts did not laugh.
