Fox’s Ainsley Earhardt Appears to Call Out Sean Hannity for Saying Marie Yovanovitch Will Cry During Impeachment Hearing
Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt appeared to criticize her Fox News’ colleague Sean Hannity for his claim that former ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch will cry ‘on cue’ during Friday’s public impeachment hearings. However, Earhardt seemed to be confused about the fact the claim was made on Fox News.
“On another network, there was someone on there saying ‘We hope she cries. We hope she gets emotional’ because that’ll be more beneficial for the Democrats,” Earhardt said.
This is an odd interpretation of what Hannity said on Thursday night. He is not on another network but he did say that Yovanovitch could cry during her testimony and that would help the Democrats.
Ainsley Earhardt calls out someone "on another network" for the "sexist" assumption that Marie Yovanovitch will cry during her testimony. I don't know who Ainsley's talking about, but last night on Fox News, Sean Hannity also predicted she'd cry "on cue." https://t.co/FGfurtxXhY pic.twitter.com/lZ2KyX2fIu

“I would say apparently she cried and the Democrats are apparently hoping she will cry again tomorrow. Okay. Does that mean like on cue?” Hannity said.
Though Earhardt was apparently confused about who said it and why, she did say the claim was sexist.
“But don’t you think that’s a little sexist to just assume that a woman’s gonna cry?” Earhardt asked Clinton impeachment independent counsel Ken Starr. “Put her up there so she’ll cry?”
Neither of Earhardt’s male co-hosts intervened to remind her that Hannity had made the claim about Yovanovitch crying.
“Of course it is,” Starr replied. “But if it works, it works.”
