‘Fox & Friends’ Claim America Loves Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Have Obviously Not Seen Her Approval Rating
The crew of Fox & Friends just can’t get enough of Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
The soon-to-be-former White House press secretary was the object of a bit of President Trump’s adulation during his re-election kickoff rally on Tuesday night, which meant she was the object of some adulation from the denizens of the curvy couch on Wednesday morning.
After playing a few bits of Trump’s speech in which he slammed Democrats for everything ailing America, the show played a moment when the president praised Huckabee Sanders and suggested she might run for governor of her native Arkansas in the near future. Then he brought her up to the podium to say a few words of praise about Trump.
The hosts then talked about how much “the rest of the country” outside Washington, D.C. allegedly loves Huckabee Sanders. Ainsley Earhardt complained that she has had “the nastiest things” said about her, but that “America is behind her and loves her.”
About that last part, a YouGov survey based on interviews over the past year gives Huckabee Sanders a 34 percent approval rating. Her disapproval rating is 38 percent. So Earhardt may want to slow her roll for a bit.
