Trump: Democrats Want To Take Away Your Car And Ban Cows
President Donald Trump’s told a rally in El Paso last night that the Green New Deal would be disaster for the country. Trump accused Democrats of wanting to fundamentally change Americans’ way of life, even accusing them of wanting to ban cows.
Trump said the House resolution on the Green New Deal was a ‘high school term paper that got a low mark’ and complained that the bill would destroy ‘American energy’ and air travel. The resolution is designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
“[Y]ou’re not allowed to own cows anymore,” Trump told his supporters. “They want to take away your car, reduce the value of your home and put millions of Americans out of work,” the President said, without showing how the plan, still in its early stages, would eliminate cattle, airplanes and cars simultaneously.
Trump’s comments on cows echo Fox News’ claims about ‘bovine flatulence’. Fox personality Jeanine Pirro mocked scientists’ concerns about methane emissions from cattle during a recent segment on her show.
“These emissions from cows are a concern to the left because these bovine emissions have an environmental impact and the methane gas produced by the bovine flatulence contributes to the greenhouse gases that contributes to global warming,” Pirro said. “Need I say more?”
Methane emissions from cattle are responsible for 40% of greenhouse gasses created by agriculture.
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a co-sponsor of the House resolution, doubted Trump had even read the legislation. “Ah yes, a man who can’t even read briefings written in full sentences is providing literary criticism of a House Resolution,” she tweeted.
Trump is aping Fox News talking points on the Green New Deal, so we should expect him to discuss cow farts in the near future.
