Maddow Dominates Cable News Ratings Tuesday Night, Leads In Total Viewers And Demo
Making her return to the air on Tuesday night after taking the Thanksgiving holiday off, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow dominated in the ratings, leading cable news in both total viewership and the key 25-54 demographic.
According to Nielsen, The Rachel Maddow Show drew 3.315 million viewers overall and 592,000 in the key 25-54 demographic. Fox News’ Hannity, which competes against Maddow head-to-head at 9 PM, placed second overall in total viewers (2.964 million) and third in the demo (480,000).
During the 8 PM to 11 PM primetime hours, Fox News waon across the board by drawing 2.845 million total viewers and 473,000 in the key demo. MSNBC averaged 457,000 demo viewers and a total audience of 2.668 million. CNN pulled in 1.255 million total viewers and 367,000 in the demographic.
In the 9 AM to 5 PM daytime slot, Fox nabbed a total viewership of 1.604 million and 274,000 in the demo. CNN grabbed 214,000 demo viewers and a total audience of 814,000. MSNBC attracted 1.088 million viewers overall and 151,000 in the 25-54 metric.
Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight finished second overall in the key demo (493,000) and third in total viewership (2.964 million). FNC’s The Ingraham Angle finished fourth in both the demo (445,000) and total viewers (2.528 million).
The top-rated program on CNN was Anderson Cooper 360, which drew 1.403 million total viewers and 383,000 in the key demo.
