CBS Evening News’ Jeff Glor Tells Jericka Duncan: Our Team Supports You
CBS Evening News anchor Jeff Glor told reporter Jericka Duncan that he and the news team support her following the firing of Jeff Fager, executive producer of 60 Minutes.
Fager is involved in a sexual harassment scandal. Duncan reached out to Fager for comment on the allegations against him, made by Ronan Farrow in a recent article. Fager sent threatening text messages to Duncan, warning her she would lose her job if she pursued the story. The text messages led to Fager’s firing.
Duncan read the text messages on air, and afterwards Jeff Glor wanted to stress that CBS Evening News was standing behind Duncan.
“Jericka, you and I have talked about how incredibly difficult covering this story has been for you,” Glor said.
“You have been on this since the beginning. you have done great work,” Glor told her. “It’s difficult enough without dealing with this. That message was unacceptable. I think it’s important for you to know, for everyone to know back there that I, we, the entire team at Evening News supports you 100%. so, Jericka, thank you.”
