Donald Trump Warns He’ll ‘Get Involved’ In The Justice Department As Supporters Chant ‘Lock Her Up!’
President Donald Trump told a rally in Indiana last night that he will have to get involved in the Justice Department if it doesn’t shape up. Trump was continuing his attacks on the department following his tweets crticizing Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
“Our Justice Department and our FBI have to start doing their jobs and doing it right and doing it now, because people are angry. People are angry,” Trump told the crowd.
“What’s happening is a disgrace, and at some point — I wanted to stay out, but at some point, if it doesn’t straighten out properly — I want them to do their jobs — I will get involved,” he said.
Trump also took the opportunity to attack Hillary Clinton. Clinton is one of the people Trump has insisted the DOJ investigates.
“Look at what she’s getting away with it,” Trump said. “But let’s see if she gets away with it. Let’s see.”
People in the crowd chanted “Lock her up!”, a familiar refrain from the 2016 campaign. Trump has threatened Clinton before but there has taken no action against her.
Trump’s rally was a campaign event for Republican senate candidate Mike Braun. Braun is running against incumbent Democrat Joe Donnelly, who is seen as vulnerable.
Trump did not mention the late Senator John McCain, despite a memorial service in his honor taking place earlier in the day.
