Donald Trump Jr’s Girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle Parts Ways With Fox News
According to ABC News’ John Santucci and Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman, Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle is leaving the network after 12 years.
Per Santucci, Guilfoyle will depart Fox News to work at America First, a Super PAC that supports President Donald Trump.

If Guilfoyle is indeed going to work for a pro-Trump super PAC, she will just be the latest in a string of Fox News personalities and employees who have taken a job with either the administration or a Trump-aligned organization. Former Fox News co-president Bill Shine was recently hired as Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications. Longtime Fox News host Heather Nauert is the State Department’s spokesperson. Former contributor John Bolton came aboard earlier this year as the president’s national security adviser. And the list goes on and on.
Following Trump’s election, Guilfoyle was rumored to be in the running for White House press secretary, which eventually went to Sean Spicer. In May 2017, she said she was in talks to take over for Spicer, stating it “would be an honor to serve the country” and that she’d do a “fascinating job.” She eventually signed a long-term extension with Fox News.
Guilfoyle has been with Fox since 2006, first serving as host of the weekend show The Lineup. After that show was canceled, she moved on to a contributor role before being tapped in 2011 as regular co-host of panel show The Five, where she has remained ever since. She has also guest hosted other opinion shows on Fox like Fox and Friends and Hannity during her tenure.
Since it was first reported in May of this year that Guilfoyle was dating the son of the President of the United States — who is currently going through a divorce with his wife Vanessa — questions have been raised by media critics over how her relationship will impact the network’s Trump coverage. CNN’s Brian Stelter wondered aloud how “can any of her colleagues criticize Trump when the president’s son’s girlfriend is sitting right there at the table? Doesn’t this complicate the entire network’s coverage of the Trump family?”
UPDATE 2:00 PM ET: HuffPost’s Yashar Ali reported that Guilfoyle did not leave the network voluntarily and that she is currently in separation negotiations now. Ali also noted that a source close to Guilfoyle and Don Jr. deny this is the case.
