Saddam Hussein’s Daughter Praises Donald Trump – She’s Been Accused Of Supporting ISIS
The daughter of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein has praised President-elect Donald Trump in an interview with CNN. Raghad Hussein has been accused of supporting ISIS by the government of Iraq and supporting her father’s Baath party
“This man has just arrived to the leadership,” Hussein said of Trump. “But from what is apparent, this man has a high level of political sensibility, that is vastly different than the one who preceded him.”
“He exposed the mistakes of the others, specifically in terms of Iraq, which means he is very aware of the mistakes made in Iraq and what happened to my father.”
Hussein was referring to Trump’s criticism of the Iraq War and his false claims that he opposed the war. He told Howard Stern in 2003 that he supported the invasion, though he seemed to know very little about it. Raghad Hussein’s comments suggest that her father was a victim of US policy mistakes.
Saddam Hussein was long an enemy of the United States and was considered part of the ‘axis of evil’ determined to harm America after 9/11. The invasion of Iraq was based on faulty intelligence and violated international law but Hussein was an undeniably violent dictator.
Hussein was captured after the invasion, put on trial and sentenced to death for the massacre of innocent Kurdish civilians. Hussein was hanged in 2006. His daughter has been accused of celebrating ISIS victories against the current Iraqi government, though she denies this.
I expect she doesn’t know Trump very well.
