Bill Maher Tells Jimmy Fallon: Donald Trump Is ‘A Racist, A Liar, A Tax Cheat’
Bill Maher has spent months warning about Donald Trump and mocking his rhetoric and inability to tell truth from lies. Last night, Maher went on The Tonight Show and told Jimmy Fallon exactly what he thinks about the Republican candidate.
Maher and all the other late night TV hosts have made endless jokes about Trump but they have also criticized him and warned about a potential Trump presidency. There seems to be a consensus among those comedians and TV hosts now: Trump was a good source of humor but he’s not funny anymore.
“It’s not funny,” Maher told Fallon. “This is a different thing. I did a whole mea culpa on my show Friday night, I talked about Mitt Romney, George Bush, Reagan, McCain like it was the end of the world. It would never have been the end of the world with those guys. This is different. This guy is different.”
Fallon, who was heavily criticized during the campaign for a softball interview where he asked Trump no difficult questions and attempted to humanize him, asked Maher if he had any advice for voters. Maher has used his show, Real Time, to warn voters against Trump.
“First of all, really? I mean, he’s a racist, a liar, a tax cheat, a deadbeat, a Russian agent, and a sexual predator,” Maher said. “How do you find your way out of the door in the morning?’ is what I would say to the undecideds.”
