Trump Appeals To Sanders Supporters By Calling Bernie “Weak” And “Pathetic”
While independent Senator and Democratic primary runner-up Bernie Sanders was making the Sunday show rounds, GOP standard-bearer Donald J. Trump was busy trashing him. Recently, Trump has ham-handedly tried to bring over disaffected Berniecrats to his corner by hyping up how the Democrats rigged the system against their hero. During his acceptance speech last week, he made several references to Sanders while attacking Hillary Clinton.
However, Trump was apparently downtrodden that Bernie didn’t criticize Clinton in his media appearances in the wake of the DNC email leaks, instead focusing on DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz and his desire to see her resign. With Trump supporters pushing the hashtag #BernieMustDisavow on Twitter over the weekend, the real estate mogul was hoping that emotion would get the best of Sanders and that he’d trash the presumptive Democratic nominee.
When it was clear that Bernie wasn’t going to waver in his support and endorsement of Hillary, Trump took to Twitter to bash the democratic socialist.
There is no longer a Bernie Sanders “political revolution.” He is turning out to be a weak and somewhat pathetic figure, wants it all to end!

Sorry folks, but Bernie Sanders is exhausted, just can’t go on any longer. He is trying to dismiss the new e-mails and DNC disrespect. SAD!

Yep, the way to convince discouraged voters of one candidate to support you is to call their original choice “weak” and “pathetic.”
Obviously, Trump is hoping that this DNC leak will cause Bernie supporters to cause havoc at the Democratic convention. Considering the Republican National Convention was fairly disastrous, what with Melania Trump’s plagiarism and Ted Cruz telling conservatives to “vote your conscience,” not to mention the dystopian view of America that was presented throughout, Trump would love nothing more than chaos to reign at the DNC.
However, it appears that both Democrats and Sanders are taking steps to ensure that won’t happen. Wasserman Schultz has been stripped of all duties at the convention as she will neither speak or preside at the event. It remains to be seen if Dems take an additional step and remove her as chairperson altogether. Meanwhile, Sanders’ campaign has already released details of his Monday night DNC speech, revealing that he’ll “make it clear that Hillary Clinton is by far superior to Donald Trump on every major issue from economics and health care to education and the environment.”
