Trump’s Remarks About Mexican-American Judge Push Lindsey Graham Over The Edge
“I’m going to do great with the Hispanics!”
Donald Trump’s mastery of measured, civil-minded tact has carried him far into the 2016 presidential race, but concerns over running him as the Republican nominee, which weren’t exactly latent to begin with, have become the most pronounced to date.
After recently making comments which tied the competency of a Mexican-American judge explicitly to his ethnicity, elements in the Republican Party, like Paul Ryan’s face (which has appeared everywhere in conjunction with this story), have denounced the comments as “racist”, but still insist that Trump has support.
Enter Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who was in no way amused when interviewed about the most recent Trumpism.
“If anybody was looking for an off-ramp, this is probably it,” says Graham. “There’ll come a time when the love of country will trump hatred of Hillary.”
Putting any resulting ambiguity to bed, Graham added:
“There are a lot of people who want to be loyal to the Republican Party, including me, but there’ll come a point in time where we’re gonna have to understand that it’s not just about the 2016 race, it’s about the future of the party and I would like to support our nominee. I just can’t.”
The comments in question rose during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper in which Trump opened his mouth and once again let words fall out.
“He’s a Mexican. We’re building a wall between here and Mexico. The answer is, he is giving us very unfair rulings — rulings that people can’t even believe.”
While people certainly can believe those remarks are Trump’s, others have had enough and want to ditch Trump altogether.
The Donald, on the other hand, looks like he’s ready to bail on CNN:
The Clinton News Network, sometimes referred to as @CNN, is getting more and more biased. They act so indignant-hear them behind closed doors

I am watching @CNN very little lately because they are so biased against me. Shows are predictable garbage! CNN and MSM is one big lie!

“[P]redictable.”
“[G]arbage.”
Interesting choice of words.
