Trump Claims Twitter Is ‘Interfering in the 2020 Presidential Election’
President Donald Trump made an extraordinary accusation against Twitter on Tuesday by claiming his favorite social media company interfering in the 2020 election. He was responding to Twitter’s attempts to fact check his comments about mail-in ballots.
“Twitter is now interfering in the 2020 Presidential Election,” Trump tweeted. “They are saying my statement on Mail-In Ballots, which will lead to massive corruption and fraud, is incorrect, based on fact-checking by Fake News CNN and the Amazon Washington Post.”

“Twitter is completely stifling FREE SPEECH, and I, as President, will not allow it to happen!”
Trump has repeatedly tweeted falsehoods about mail-in ballots and Twitter has begun labeling those tweets so that users can find out more information about the topic. The President reacted with fury to the platform’s decision, which is a first for Jack Dorsey’s company.
On Tuesday, Twitter came under increasing pressure to remove Trump tweets accusing MSNBC host Joe Scarborough of murdering intern Lori Klausutis when he was a congressman. The social media company has refused to do so.
