Fox’s Brian Kilmeade: Adam Schiff ‘Looked Like He Was Gonna Cry’ During Impeachment Hearing
The hosts of Fox & Friends were sticking to the script on Friday following days of devastating testimony in the public impeachment hearings. While the consensus across the media was that President Donald Trump had had a disastrous week, on Fox News’ flagship morning show, nothing interesting had happened.
The hosts showed some clips from Thursday’s proceedings before suggesting that that could be the last one. That is not yet certain, more witnesses could be called.
“OK. So that’s interesting,” co-host Steve Doocy said. “You know, so, that wraps up 12 witnesses. This is all they have scheduled so far. That could have been yesterday Adam Schiff’s closing argument yesterday.”
“He looked like he was gonna cry,” co-host Brian Kilmeade said.
“He was really revved up,” Doocy said. “We will play some of it for you if you missed it. But there were no bombshells during the entire 12 witnesses because the Democrats had leaked all the good stuff out ahead of time.”
“No-one had direct evidence that the President of the United States did anything impeachable and no one heard him specifically ask for quid pro quo. Something for something.”
This presentation of events is consistent with the Fox News line. While some its’ anchors have shown that the testimony is extremely damaging to Trump, the opinion side has worked hard to present an alternate version of the hearings that exonerates the President.
