Gretchen Carlson and Julie Roginsky Demand Fox News Releases Them from NDAs: ‘We Want to Speak for Ourselves’
Six former Fox News employees have called on the company to release them from non-disclosure agreements, including Gretchen Carlson and Julie Roginksy, who made the demand in a CBS interview on Wednesday morning. Both have accused former Fox chairman Roger Ailes of workplace misconduct or sexual harassment.
If they are released from their NDAs, they will be able to speak openly about their experiences at the network without fear of legal reprisal.
“I think this is the latest phase in the revolution, we’ve made so much progress over the last three years,” Carlson told CBS This Morning.
“We want to speak for ourselves. We’ve had a voice for a very long time,” Roginsky said.

“The way in which we continue to subjugate women is through NDAs and silencing them. It’s really a harasser’s best friend,” Carlson went on. “I want to do it for the thousands of women in our country who maybe don’t have the national platform to speak out.”
Roginsky and Carlson said they should be able to speak freely without worrying about the consequences of NDAs. Both women settled lawsuits with Fox News but the settlements involved non-disclosure agreements.
“This is not an issue only emblematic of one industry or one political persuasion, it’s emblematic of a culture and society that tells women they have to keep quiet, and that has to end,” Carlson said.
