Turkey’s President Threw Donald Trump’s Bizarre Letter in the Trash
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threw President Donald Trump’s letter in the trash, according a source close to the president. Trump’s letter was sent last week and was revealed on Wednesday. It was unprecedented in its bizarre language.
“Let’s work out a good deal! You don’t want to be responsible for slaughtering thousands of people, and I don’t want to be responsible for destroying the Turkish economy – and I will,” Trump’s letter said.
“History will look upon you favourably if you get this done the right and humane way. It will look upon you forever as the devil if good things don’t happen,” the letter went on.
EXCLUSIVE: I have obtained a copy of @realDonaldTrump’s letter to #Erdogan. @POTUS warns him to not “be a tough guy! Don’t be a fool!” Says he could destroy Turkey’s economy if #Syria is not resolved in a humane way. Details tonight at 8pm #TrishRegan #FoxBusiness pic.twitter.com/9BoSGlbRyt

President Erdogan was reportedly unimpressed, as a Turkish presidential source made clear.
“President Erdogan received the letter, thoroughly rejected it and put it in the bin,” the source said.
Erdogan was reportedly infuriated by Trump’s letter and launched the offensive into Syria on the day he received it. Trump has won bipartisan criticism for his decision to pull U.S. troops out of the region and allow Turkey to invade. There are serious concerns that the Kurds, longtime U.S. allies, will be slaughtered.
