Nancy Pelosi Sticks Knife In Trump After Meeting: Federal Workers Can’t Ask Daddy For Money
Following a White House shutdown meeting which featured the president storming out after Democrats told him they wouldn’t fund a border wall, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi absolutely bodied President Trump with a deep shot.
With nearly a million federal workers facing the stark reality of no pay if the shutdown continues through this week, Pelosi compared their plights with the president’s silver-spooned upbringing.
“Federal workers will not be receiving their paychecks and what that means in their lives is tragic in terms of their credit rating, paying their mortgage, paying their rent, paying their car payment, paying their children’s tuition and the rest,” she told reporters outside the White House Wednesday afternoon.
She continued, “The president seems to be insensitive to that. He thinks maybe they could just ask their father for more money, but they can’t.”
Ouch, that’s gotta hurt! Last year, the New York Times reported that despite Trump’s repeated insistence that he only took a small million-dollar loan from his mega-wealthy father to start his empire, the loan was more like $60 million and he ended up receiving roughly $400 million from his father’s estate.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer went on to point out that the president threw a “temper tantrum” and walked out of the meeting because he couldn’t get his way. This was disputed by Vice President Mike Pence, who said he didn’t recall Trump raising his voice and that Trump “passed out candy.”
Meanwhile, Trump confirmed on Twitter that he said “bye-bye” and left after Pelosi told him she wouldn’t agree to the wall.
Just left a meeting with Chuck and Nancy, a total waste of time. I asked what is going to happen in 30 days if I quickly open things up, are you going to approve Border Security which includes a Wall or Steel Barrier? Nancy said, NO. I said bye-bye, nothing else works!
