Bill O’Reilly Claims That Every Single Mass Murderer In Past 40 Years Has Been An Atheist
Fox News pundit and owner of really massive head Bill O’Reilly took to his program Thursday night to complain about the lack of religious spirituality in America and pegged that as the number one reason for mass shootings in the country. During the ‘Talking Points Memo’ segment, The O’Reilly Factor host pointed to declining memberships of the major religions as the main cause of mass shootings, and completely dismissed the notion that guns are too readily available or that there is a need for better mental health care. In Papa Bear’s opinion, it all has to do with God.
Below is video of the segment, courtesy of Fox News:
After blaming the WBDJ shooting and pretty much all other murders on “secular-progressive beliefs,” Bill-O turned it over to a panel discussion on just how goddamned right he is in all of this. The conversation started with Fox News contributor and professional crazy person Keith Ablow, who of course agreed with everything O’Reilly said in his monologue. The discussion was then tossed to Karen Ruskin, a psychotherapist. After Ruskin stated that she does not think that lack of religion or spirituality really has anything to do with triggering the psyche of a murderer, O’Reilly then took her to task for not agreeing with him.
The humble war-time correspondent pressed Ruskin to provide at least one example of someone who was spiritual and killed others, outside of those dirty ass jihadists in the Middle East. Obviously put on a spot to name names, Ruskin fumbled a little but stated that she is sure there are examples of religious people engaging in multiple murders. O’Reilly was having none of it, though. Matter of factly, Bill-O said, “Every single murderer over 40 years that I have covered in these circumstances has been either atheistic, agnostic, no religious basis at all.” Point. Set. Match.
Later on in the discussion, O’Reilly and Ablow would claim that Planned Parenthood was also to blame for mass shootings in this country since they prove to Americans that life doesn’t matter. In regards to Islam and jihadists killing in the name of that religion, O’Reilly said that had nothing to do with spirituality because a jihadist loses the spirituality when he decides to engage in murder. He would admit that Christianity has been used to justify murder in the past, but not now, as it is all about a lack of belief.
Getting back to the O’Reilly’s notion that all mass murders in the past 40 years have been atheists and agnostics, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that he is full of horseshit. Just quickly scanning a list of mass killings, one can point to the case of Terry Ratzmann in 2005, who was apparently set off by a church sermon. There’s also Michael McLendon in 2008, whose motivation for killing family members was a dispute over a Bible. These are just a couple of examples of recent killers who were obviously ‘spiritual’.
Anyway, if you wanna watch Bill-O push the idea that America needs to fully be a theocracy, watch below, courtesy of Media Matters:

“Flanagan says God told him to kill Parker and Ward as payback for Charleston”
Oh look, the most recent shooting was by a nutjob who believed in god.
I’m starting to think that Fox News is not a credible source.
