Fox’s Brian Kilmeade: Obama Administration Seemed to ‘Kiss Up to Iran’
Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade claimed on Wednesday that the Obama administration scared the Middle East by kissing up to Iran. The Fox & Friends host made the remark during a discussion of the normalization of relations between Israel and Bahrain.
Though the deal has been hailed by President Donald Trump and his supporters, many experts have argued that it achieves little and doesn’t address the major issues facing the region. Kilmeade was speaking to journalist Hayvi Bouzo, who pointed to Israel’s technology.
“They also have intelligence and they also look at Iran as the chief enemy and the previous administration scared the heck out of the entire region by seeming to kiss up to Iran and alienate Israel,” Kilmeade said.
“They didn’t like that. So they created relations below the radar. The President brought it up and formalized it. Is that correct?”
“Well, definitely the relations have been improving between Israel and its neighbors, specifically gulf countries for a while now. But Iran, as you mentioned, was absolutely empowered under the Obama-Biden administration,” Bouzo claimed.
Fox News, along with Trump’s allies, have repeatedly attacked former President Barack Obama for his attitude toward Iran and the nuclear deal, which U.S. allies are continuing to try and enforce.
