Joe Scarborough on Russia Report: ‘Trump Lied. Trump Committed Perjury’
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough explained some of the findings of the Senate report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election on Wednesday. The Morning Joe host described President Donald Trump’s bad Tuesday as the bipartisan conclusions painted him as a liar.
“And of course, Donald Trump in the White House yesterday,” Scarborough said. “I mean, you had this Russian report that came out, and the language was just hard.”
“The Republicans concluded that Trump’s coordination with Russia proved a, quote, ‘grave counterintelligence threat‘. A grave threat to American democracy. And we’re gonna go through the report but just looking at some of it here, you know, ‘Despite Trump’s recollection,’ the Senate Republican report said, ‘The committee assesses that Trump did, in fact, speak with ….'”
“Trump lied. Trump committed perjury there and that Donald Trump knowingly pushed Russian material the last month of the campaign, even after the intelligence committee warned him not to, that it was stolen material from Russia. And then, of course, you had [Postmaster General Louis] Dejoy at the post office going, never mind.”
“Never mind. Listen, I know the President wants me to help him rig the election, but upon further consultation with my lawyers, my wife, and my family, I don’t want to go to jail. So, never mind, y’all,” Scarborough mocked.
