Trump Says Steve Doocy’s Newly Married Daughter ‘Starts Off with Excellent Genes’
President Donald Trump offered unusual praise of a Fox News’ host’s recently married daughter during an interview on Wednesday. Trump spoke to Fox & Friends while one of the show’s regular hosts, Steve Doocy, called in to the studio.
Doocy had officiated his sister’s wedding over the weekend and he asked the President for advice for newly weds. However, Trump seemed to mix up Doocy’s sister with his daughter before praising her genetic makeup.
“First of all, congratulations, you finally got that done despite everything, it’s not easy,” Trump said.
“But, as you know, I’ve met your daughter, she’s lovely. It’s gonna be a great combination. They don’t — Don’t listen to my advice. You just let them lead their life. They’re gonna be very good. They’re gonna be just fine.”
“It’s a great couple. And it’s an incredible family. She starts off with excellent genes, that’s very important,” Trump said.
The Fox & Friends seemed to notice Trump had mixed up Doocy’s sister with his daughter, but didn’t correct the President. Instead, they moved on with the conversation.
“Well, thank you very much. That’s all I was curious about. I gotta go. I’m still on vacation. Talk to you later,” Doocy said.
