Charlie Kirk Predicts the Youth Vote Will Come Out for Trump in November
Charlie Kirk told Fox News on Wednesday that the youth vote will support President Donald Trump in November’s election. The president of conservative group Turning Point USA told Fox & Friends that something was happening among American young people that would materialize in the election.
Trump spoke to some 3,000 students in Phoenix, Arizona on Tuesday – a number repeatedly touted by Kirk despite the fact it is around half the number that attended Trump’s Tulsa rally. That event was deemed a ‘flop’ after poor attendance, though the Students for Trump venue was apparently smaller.
Kirk was keen to emphasize the supposed ‘free speech crisis’ on college campuses that has been a mainstay of his organization’s activities.
“A lot of those controversies, the President has had our back by signing that executive order free speech on college campuses. And yesterday despite what a lot of people said, I don’t know if you’ll be able to have the turnout. 3,000 young people in the middle of Arizona heat and they waited 7, 8, 9 hours to hear the President.”
“Pretty incredible, I’ll tell you and it’s because of the President’s executive order on free speech on campuses and I really think there is something special happening with young people in America. And I think in November we’ll see that play out.”
Trump won just 37% of the Millennial vote in 2016, compared to Hillary Clinton’s 55%. Since that election, more young people have reached voting age.
