Joe Scarborough Warns Trump Defenders He’ll Probably Be Out of Office by January but ‘That Stain Follows Them’
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough warned those defending and working for President Donald Trump that he’ll likely be out of office in a matter of months but they will have damaged their reputations for life. The Morning Joe host discussed the President recent falsehoods on Twitter.
Scarborough highlighted Trump’s false claim that Michigan was sending absentee ballots to people, when in reality they were only sending applications. The President later deleted the tweet and sent an altered version.
“Hold on. Hold on, hold on, hold on. We gotta stop again. Because it is a lie. We can actually fact-check, that is a lie. That is a lie that Donald Trump put on Twitter. One of the many lies he put on Twitter.”
“And after he put that lie on Twitter, he actually took it down. They weren’t sending absentee ballots to people in Michigan. They were sending applications. They were doing the same thing that Republican states were doing.”
“So what they just said — see, this is the thing I don’t understand, OK? Donald Trump is going to be gone from the White House, I suspect, by January. These people that are sullying their reputations for life, not for 15 minutes but their 5 minutes, don’t they understand the stain follows them? It follows them forever. Don’t they understand that?”
“I don’t think so,” co-host Mika Brzezinski said.
