Fox’s Brian Kilmeade Suggests Trump Doesn’t Wear a Mask Because He Has Air Force One and the Secret Service
Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade argued on Tuesday that President Donald Trump doesn’t need to wear a face mask because he has other protection such as the Secret Service. The Fox & Friends host was responding to criticism of Trump for not wearing a mask at a Memorial Day event.
Kilmeade said that Trump wanted to focus on American actions during the War of 1812 in an impromptu history lesson.
“But people want to focus on him not wearing a mask,” Kilmeade said. “Hey guys, he got tested a couple hours ago. He’s in the open air. He doesn’t need a mask. He’s further enough away from these people.”
“Understand the President’s got special things around him like Air Force One, like Secret Service and he also gets tested every day. Let’s move on and talk about something else that’s on the President’s mind. And that’s his re-election.”
Armed men will not, of course, protect Trump from the Coronavirus, nor will being in the open air arrest the virus’ spread. Kilmeade is simply reiterated his already stated doubts about the severity of Covid-19. He has repeatedly called for reopening New York city, despite expert medical advice.
