Fox’s Brian Kilmeade on Elon Musk Reopening Factory: “Mr. Tesla Is Upset”
Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade praised Tesla CEO Elon Musk for reopening an auto plant in California in defiance of Coronavirus restrictions on Tuesday but seemed to confuse Musk with the company’s namesake, inventor Nikola Tesla.
“Meanwhile, guys, one of the big stories is some of these states are opening up too slow to really help businesses and their constituents who are told you’ve been decurved, you are back in business,” the Fox & Friends host said.
“They’ve been decurved, they’re not back in business,” he said. “One of which, you saw the protest going on in Pennsylvania and Michigan. Also, California, Elon Musk, who does everything from putting people in space and giving us the next generation of green cars – Mr. Tesla is upset.”
“He has an auto plant in California. The only one left. And he can’t get it going again. And he thinks it’s totally overkill because he knows Alameda County can do it.”
“And, Steve, he is sounding off and he’s not as usual sitting on his hands,” Kilmeade said.
Musk has won widespread criticism for downplaying the virus, which has now killed 80,000 Americans and attacking stay-at-home orders. Tesla is named for the famous inventor, who died in 1943. Many critics would point out crucial differences between Tesla’s approach to the public and Musk’s.
