White House Claims Trump Works So Hard He Often Skips Lunch
White House officials have insisted that President Donald Trump is extremely hard working and is sometimes forced to skip lunch because he works so much. Members of Trump’s staff spoke to the conservative New York Post following a New York Times article claiming the President rarely leaves his bedroom before noon.
One official told the Post that Trump can take up to 60 calls a day, leaving him little time to even eat.
“There are times when lunch isn’t even a thought,” they said. “A lot of time there’s either no time for lunch or there is 10 minutes for lunch.”
Trump’s new chief of staff, Congressman Mark Meadows, echoed the claim that Trump has no time for lunch.
“I can tell you that the biggest concern I have as a new chief of staff is making sure he gets some time to get a quick bite to eat,” Meadows said.
“I can tell you that he will go back in and have a lunch just off the Oval Office and more times than not it is interrupted by several phone calls. If he gets more than 10 minutes of time in a given day I haven’t seen in the five weeks I’ve been here.”
These claims will be difficult to swallow given years of reporting about Trump’s habits, both in terms of his work ethic and how he eats.
