Fox’s Brian Kilmeade Again Claims ‘Unemployment Is So Attractive’ People Won’t Want Their Jobs Back
Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade reiterated a claim on Tuesday that people currently out of work because of Covid-19 won’t want to go back to their jobs when the crisis has passed. The Fox & Friends host has been making the claim since Congress passed an economic rescue package.
Kilmeade was speaking to Assaf Gal, the owner of a Crunch Gym franchise, about the economic situation. He didn’t engage with the Fox host’s argument about profitable unemployment.
“You have a lot of part time employees, instructors,” Kilmeade said to Gal.
“They have to go on employment. It’s more money. Unemployment is so attractive now, a lot of them don’t want their jobs back.”
“They get paid more not to work which is – your heart’s in the right place but your mind’s not, Congress,” Kilmeade scolded. “That makes it hard toward retain employees, many of which are your friends.”
“So you’re not gonna tell your friend take less money and do nothing and work for me so I can get this loan. You’re going to tell them feed your family, get more money from unemployment.”
Again, Gal avoided addressing Kilmeade’s point about unemployment and instead focused on sustaining his business.
