Fox’s Brian Kilmeade: ‘It’s Not Goodbye’ to Socialism Just Because Sanders Is Out
Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade has warned that Socialism isn’t gone from the Democratic primary just because Senator Bernie Sanders has dropped out. The Fox & Friends host made the remarks as the show pivoted to painting former Vice President Joe Biden as a Socialist.
The hosts showed a clip of Sanders saying his delegates should exercise influence over the Democratic platform at the convention. This prompted Kilmeade’s warning about Socialism.
“Hello socialism. It’s not goodbye,” Kilmeade said. “Last night on Stephen Colbert last night he came out and said Joe Biden has gotta advance, open up his circle.”
“He’s gotta get more Progressives around him. So hello $15 minimum wage. Hello Medicare for All and goodbye oil and gas because fracking is now banned if he gets his way and has legitimate influence with Joe Biden.”
The show’s guest, Republican Congressman Kevin Brady of Texas, agreed with Kilmeade.
“Bernie Sanders may be suspending his campaign but socialist ideas continue to live on,” Rep. Brady said. “And they seem to be embraced more each day by Joe Biden.”
This exchange is a preview of Fox News’ approach to a Biden candidacy, which will seek to paint Biden as a far-left figure regardless of his history or the policies he adopts.
