‘Today’ Show’s Hoda Kotb Overcome With Emotion About Coronavirus’ Effect on New Orleans
Today show host Hoda Kotb had an emotional moment on Friday following a discussion about the effects Covid-19 has had on New Orleans, a city that has always had a ‘special place in her heart’, according to NBC. Kotb was briefly unable to speak.
Kotb interviewed New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Bees about the virus’ effect on the city. Following her talk with Bees, she was overwhelmed with emotion.

“Hoda, I know it’s a lot,” co-host Savannah Guthrie said, broadcasting from home since self-isolating.
“Hoda, I’m so sorry, hon. Take a moment. It’s a lot. I know where your heart is, my dear, I do,” she said.
The Today show shared the video on its Twitter account with the message “We love you, Hoda.” The moment quickly went viral online as fans of the show expressed their love and solidarity with Kotb. The NBC show has been affected by the virus, with several staff being sent home.
