Trump Mocks Mitt Romney’s Negative Coronavirus Diagnosis: ‘So Happy I Can Barely Speak’
President Donald Trump’s response to the Covid-19 global pandemic may have reached a new low today when he mocked Senator Mitt Romney’s negative test for the virus. The Utah Republican is in self-isolation but news broke on Tuesday that he doesn’t have Coronavirus.
Trump retweeted a Breitbart News article about Romney’s test.
“This is really great news!” Trump tweeted with obvious sarcasm.
This is really great news! I am so happy I can barely speak. He may have been a terrible presidential candidate and an even worse U.S. Senator, but he is a RINO, and I like him a lot! https://t.co/42zpWW9vzy

Trump has repeatedly mocked and criticized Romney, who was the Republican nominee for president in 2012. However, his reaction to what should be good news – that Romney is free of a disease that has proved deadly for many – represents a low point in their relationship and Trump’s handling of the crisis.
