Trump Is Reportedly ‘Losing His Patience’ With Dr. Anthony Fauci
Dr. Anthony Fauci has won the trust of many Americans for his handling of the Covid-19 global pandemic but his tendency to correct President Donald Trump and his media appearances have not pleased the President. According to a new New York Times report, Trump is running out of patience with the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
“The President has become increasingly concerned as Dr. Anthony S. Fauci has grown bolder in correcting his falsehoods about the spread of the coronavirus,” the NYT reports.
The newspaper claims the President is ‘losing his patience’ with Fauci and cites aides who are also concerned that Fauci has praised Trump when appearing on conservative news outlets but taken ‘potshots’ at him during interviews with print media.
“A White House spokesman and Dr. Fauci did not respond to requests for comment.” This is where silence speaks volumes. I fear Fauci will soon “resign.” Meaning: be fired. https://t.co/d0kjogGLtJ

Fauci reportedly told the White House that the viral moment when he appeared to face palm during the President’s remarks was because ‘he had choked on a cough drop and didn’t want anyone to see.’
On Tuesday, Trump retweeted a video of that very moment from an account that appeared to frame Fauci’s reaction as a positive for the President. That is not how it has been interpreted elsewhere.
Fauci did not attend Monday’s Coronavirus briefing. Others who have attended the briefings have been deferential to Trump, in some cases damaging their credibility in the eyes of some commentators. Tuesday’s story has already led to speculation that Fauci may either resign or be forced out of his job.
