Fox’s Judge Nap: Chuck Schumer’s SCOTUS Comments Might Be ‘A Dog Whistle to Crazies’
Fox News judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano has said that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s comments about some Supreme Court justices ‘paying the price’ for certain decisions on abortion could be a signal to ‘crazies’ in the country.
While Napolitano said Schumer’s comments were not in fact a threat, who suggested they could have a harmful effect.
“He might actually be sending a dog whistle to crazies out there,” Napolitano said.
“Look, I don’t believe he will succeed in intimidating anybody on the court, which is why we give them life tenure and they wear black robes and operate largely in secrecy and induces respect.”
“But if more of this happens, they will not have the respect and it will undermine rule of law.”
Napolitano also said that Republican Senator Josh Hawley’s attempt to censure Schumer was unlikely to succeed.
“I don’t blame Senator Hawley for doing this but knowing Senator McConnell, who controls what happens on the floor, I don’t think that’s going to happen,” he said.
